We are delighted to unveil the latest addition to our production floor. The Evolution Series Mark Andy label press delivers high-speed, servo-driven performance and is designed to future-proof Piroto’s label printing capabilities for years to come.
State-of-the-art printing technology
The new press joins our existing Mark Andy duo, increasing overall label printing speed while also introducing new in-line printing features. As a result, quicker changeovers, in-line foiling and laminating, and increased power all contribute to faster print runs and shorter lead times for our customers. In addition, these gains are achieved alongside improved energy efficiency on like-for-like print runs.
Furthermore, the additional capacity provides our planning team with greater flexibility. This, in turn, enables us to deliver even higher-quality labels that meet our customers’ exacting specifications and timescales.
£1.3m investment in quality
The new press represents the final element of a £1.3 million investment in our production capability. Over the last 18 months, we have installed a customised label waste extraction system, upgraded our camera inspection equipment, and delivered further enhancements across our production floor to strengthen quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Label waste extraction system
Working with Forward Waste Management and Enviroquip, Operations Manager Nigel Terrett managed the design and installation of a high-specification waste extraction system. The system extracts label matrix waste directly from our machines, shreds it, and transports it to a compaction unit and storage hopper. Once compacted, the waste material is collected and processed through the Zero 2 Landfill scheme, where it is used to generate energy.
The new set-up improves productivity through seamless label waste extraction. Moreover, it significantly reduces dust in the working environment which helps deliver improved print quality for our customers’ labels, as well as creating a better workplace for our team.
Our investment programme will keep Piroto Labelling at the forefront of printing technology which, in turn, will deliver the high-performance labels we are known for.
