Frequently Asked Technical Questions

Do I have to provide label artwork?
Yes please, though we can make small amends to your label artwork if needed. Once we have received your artwork, we will prepare it for print and ask you to sign off a proof before printing plates are ordered.
Our flexographic presses have 8 colour stations which means we can produce virtually any colour, including matching Pantone colours, that you want. We use a highly calibrated spectrometer to ensure a perfect colour match for your labels. We use four colour process which gives the ability to reproduce any image on your label with clarity and accuracy.
You can find our label printing tolerances here. Should you need any further information please contact us on +44 (0) 1604 646600 and ask to speak to our technical team.
A printing plate is a flexible ‘plate’ that carries the image and text to be printed on your label. In flexographic printing the printing plate is affixed to a cylinder which is rolled in ink trays and applied to the label substrate. Printing plates are not required for digital label printing.
There are many variables to consider when specifying your label or tag. Our handy guide to specifying your label gives you a great starting point. Alternatively, our expert team will be happy to guide you through the process. Please do get in touch.

Compliance & Certification

Where can I find Piroto’s BRCGS certificate?

We are proud to attain BRCGS accreditation at AA standard. If you need a copy of our latest certificate you can download it from the Technical Resources section of our website.

Our labels and tags are customised to meet your exact specification so please talk to us about any compliance requirements you have. We support our customers in testing labels and tags on a small scale before introducing new specifications across your operation.

Having looked carefully at ISO standards versus BRCGS accreditation we decided to put our efforts into achieving BRGCS. Our customers tell us that BRCGS is more relevant to them, and we believe that BRCGS audits encompass the majority of ISO standards too.

You are welcome to visit our manufacturing site and judge our standards for yourself.

Our presses have sophisticated camera inspection devices to check print quality and consistency across your label run. In addition, cameras pick up missing labels to guarantee vital data integrity for variable data labels.

Please feel free to download our latest FSC® Chain of Custody certificate from the Technical Resources section of our website.
