Missy is one of the newer members of the Piroto team, having joined us two and a half years ago in 2022. Her role as Production Planner is pretty unique as she works with virtually all areas of the business to schedule label print runs to meet customer deadlines. Meeting Missy, you can see how her effervescent personality is well-suited to the role!
As a planner, Missy is responsible for getting everything in place, from label substrates and roll cores to delivery boxes and packing tape, to ensure customer get their customised labels when they need them.
Missy admits that she’s a natural planner. She says, ‘I remember as a child redesigning my bedroom. I had lists, mood boards, the works, to make sure the project went to plan!’ After having studied art and design, her love of planning took her into event organisation roles. Whilst she enjoyed the challenge, she found herself spending much of her time behind a computer screen rather than with people.
Then COVID struck in 2020. Event planning was one of the hardest hit sectors, and Missy found herself with time on her hands. With the opportunity to reassess her career options, she sought a new role that combined her organisational and people skills.
Having secured the role of production planner at Piroto, Missy admits she’s becoming a real ‘label nerd’! She said, ‘I love the fact that I’m involved in the manufacturing process. It’s great to see our labels on supermarket shelves, knowing you’ve had a hand in the process that has brought them there.’ She added ‘Piroto is a great place to work, I really feel part of the team. And even though I’m one of the newer team members, my ideas are listened to. I’m proud to say that I recently saved the company money by sourcing a new supplier, and it feels great to get recognition.’
