As Piroto Labelling’s fiftieth anniversary year draws to a close there is one final celebratory story to be told. A tale of teamwork both within the company and behind the scenes. On 16th December 2003 Leigh and Amanda Mann took over Piroto and were appointed Managing Director and Company Secretary respectively.
If you’ve read Leigh’s story you’ll know that purchasing Piroto 20 years ago ended a momentous year for Leigh and Amanda. In March 2003 they welcomed their first child, Oliver, and settled in a new home near Northampton.
Leigh remembers 2003, in characteristic understatement, as being ‘a little full on!’. He went on to say, ‘without the love and support of Amanda, who kept focussed on the family’s well-being so I could manage the business, Piroto’s growth would not have been possible.’
Amanda and Leigh’s partnership and understanding is the bedrock of Piroto’s success. It starts with teamwork; a core value for everyone at the company
The last 20 years have presented significant business challenges. With many circumstances outside of Piroto’s control like recession, wars in the Middle East, the financial crisis and of course Brexit, Covid, the war in Ukraine and the recent economic pressures. Yet the team has remained steadfast.
The belief that by working together to do the best job possible for customers remains paramount. Sticking to this philosophy will mean that Piroto, and the team, will not only survive but thrive.
Leigh finished by saying ‘bring on the next 20 years!’ He added ‘ I’m not sure what will happen outside of our control, we will however continue with our philosophy and believe in ourselves and our teams’.
