Food traceability labels help to integrate new ERP systems

‘Working in partnership with trade customers takes an extra special relationship. It’s important that trust is built and communication is open and clear.’

The Customer

Our customer provides enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to the food industry. They work with all manner of food processors, from abattoirs and fish processors, to catering butchers and food services companies.

Their aim is to work in partnership with their clients; offering fully integrated, end to end systems that improve production efficiency, traceability and data capture.

The Customer’s Challenge

To offer a truly end to end solution to their clients, our customer identified that they needed to work with a label provider who could develop traceability labels that would be compatible with the label printers that they supplied as part of their systems. In addition, the traceability labels must meet the end clients’ specifications.

Our customer recognised that they needed to work with a traceability label provider that they could trust to deliver the same high level of service and expertise that they provide to their customers. They approached their own food processing clients asking them to recommend specialist food traceability label and tag suppliers; Piroto’s name was recommended again and again.

Our Approach

The next step our customer took was to reach out to the Piroto team; we then discussed exactly what they were looking to achieve from a partnership.

Our first step was to test various labels and tags with their printers to ascertain which would be the best for the job. We did this at no cost as a testament to our commitment to help our customer meet their objective and to provide their clients with the best food traceability labels and tags.

What we delivered

Following discussions and label tests, we developed a range of off-the-shelf metal detectable food traceability tags to meet food manufacturers’ needs. The thermal coated, polypropylene, metal detectable traceability tags worked perfectly with printers in many different food production settings. The metal detectable tags come in a range of colours to suit the client’s needs and to make the tags instantly identifiable.

In some cases end clients have had more sophisticated labelling requirements; Piroto has helped them by developing customised tags to meet exact requirements.  Whether they need a different size metal detectable tag to accommodate more printed information, a special colour tag to work alongside an existing process or a customised loop-lock tag shape to fit specific tray types, we have met the brief.

Whatever the client requirements, we are confident to have produced the best label or tag for the job!

The impact on the customer’s business

By working in partnership, we have developed a beneficial relationship built on individual expertise and mutual trust. Our customer has specifically benefited from:

  • being able to provide a truly end to end solution to their clients which has helped them win and retain business
  • being able to provide tried and tested metal detectable food traceability tags that they know will work with their printers and will satisfy their clients
  • having a trusted label and tag partner they can recommend to their clients with no hesitation,
  • being confident that Piroto can deal directly with their clients when a more sophisticated labelling solution is required; helping build trust with their own clients.
